information the enclosed copy of an Award made by Major-Gen-

eral Gascoigne when recently administering the Government under subsection VI of section 7 of the Fraya Reclamation Ordinance 1889 as compensation for injury to the property known as Marine Lot 188 and the remaining portion of Marine Lot 189, on which are situate valuable godowns, on account of the reclamation in front of the property.

The amount of compensation was arrived

at by assessing the value of the property prior to Ist.Jan- uary, 1899, the date upon which the reclamation works began to interfere with the use of the godowns upon it, and the value

after that date.
